About Me

I’m Sarah Dowling, a nerd living in Sydney. By day, I juggle parenting, with work in the events industry wistfully counting down the days until I can go back to work, and chip away at a Pinterest-related blog I’d like to start. At night, I’m studying a Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication at TAFE NSW’s Ultimo campus.

Technology has always been a big part of my life. My family’s first computer was an Amiga 500. One of my fondest memories as a child was going to our local computer store and browsing the shelves filled with shareware on 3.5 inch floppies. I started doing my own Windows installs at 8, and at 10, my lifelong hobby of coding websites began when my oldest brother introduced me to Frontpage Express (20 years of HTML and counting!).

I’ve started using my site to blog to keep myself accountable while I’m studying. It’s a way that I make sure I find time to do the reading, watching and research I should be doing to supplement my course. It also gives me a practical way to demonstrate my skills and knowledge (hello, potential future employers!).
